1. Who is responsible for your data?

The controller of personal data processed through this website is Magdalena Frydrykiewicz, operating the Sylkmerie brand.

You can contact the controller by email at hello@sylkmerie.com.

2. What information may be processed?

When you visit sylkmerie.com, limited technical information may be processed automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device information, date and time of access, requested pages and technical server logs.

If you contact Sylkmerie by email, the information contained in your message may also be processed, including your email address, name if provided, and the content of your correspondence.

The website currently does not provide user accounts, a newsletter or a direct online shop and does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

3. Why is your data processed?

Personal data may be processed:

  • to respond to messages and enquiries;
  • to take steps requested by you before entering into a contract, where applicable;
  • to ensure the security, stability and correct technical operation of the website;
  • to diagnose technical problems and protect the website against misuse.

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on the performance of steps requested by you before entering into a contract or on the controller’s legitimate interests in communicating with visitors and maintaining a secure and functional website.

4. Who may receive your data?

Data may be processed by service providers supporting the operation of the website, email and hosting infrastructure, but only to the extent necessary to provide those services.

Data may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.

Personal data is not sold to third parties.

5. How long is information kept?

Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to deal with the relevant enquiry and, where appropriate, for a further period necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Technical server logs are retained according to the technical and security settings of the website and hosting infrastructure.

6. Cookies and language preferences

Sylkmerie uses a functional cookie named sylkmerie_language.

This cookie is used solely to remember whether you have manually selected the Polish or English version of the website.

The cookie:

  • is created only after you actively select PL or EN;
  • does not contain advertising or analytics information;
  • is not used to track your activity across other websites;
  • is stored for up to 180 days.

On your first visit, the website may use the language preference provided by your browser to display the appropriate language version. This automatic language detection does not itself create the sylkmerie_language preference cookie.

You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. If the language cookie is removed or blocked, the website may no longer remember your manually selected language.

7. Links to other websites

Sylkmerie contains links to external services, including Ravelry, Etsy and Instagram.

When you follow one of these links, you leave sylkmerie.com. The external service then processes information according to its own privacy and cookie policies. Sylkmerie does not control the processing carried out by those independent services.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of your data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive or transfer your data where the right to data portability applies.

You may exercise your rights by contacting hello@sylkmerie.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

9. Automated decision-making

Sylkmerie does not use personal data collected through this website for automated decision-making or profiling.

10. Changes to this policy

This Privacy & Cookies Policy may be updated if the website changes, for example if analytics, a newsletter, a contact form, additional cookies or other services are introduced.

The current version will always be published on this page.
